Mario Anastasiades

I was born in Islington, London and attended William Ellis Grammar School in Highgate, London.

I then attended the University of East Anglia in Norwich, Norfolk where I obtained my Law Degree LLB (Hons.) Thereafter I completed my Solicitor's Final Examinations at the School of Law in Guildford, Surrey. 

I was admitted as a Solicitor on the 2nd May 1988. 

I completed my Articles by spending a year with the London Borough of Hounslow's Legal Department and then a year with Toller Hales and Collcutt, Solicitors in Northampton. Post qualification I also worked with Wilson Browne, Solicitors in Northampton and then Hale Randle and Stevenson, Solicitors in Hinckley.  

I joined Freer Bouskell in October 1994. 

Since qualifying, my main areas of practice have been in Personal Injury Law and Clinical Negligence and general Civil Litigation. In addition I conduct Employment Tribunal cases included cases of Unfair Dismissal and Discrimination cases of all kinds. 

I am a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and have been since 1994. I was a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel. I am the past President of the Leicestershire Medico-Legal Society and former chair of the Hinckley Citizen's Advice Bureau. I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Hinckley Citizen's Advice Bureau. I also attend there as a Duty Solicitor as well as at the Blaby Citizen's Advice Bureau.

In 1997 I was appointed as Her Majesty's Assistant Deputy Coroner. In 2004 I became HM Deputy Coroner which is a post I held until 2009. I also deal with the representation of families at Inquests using my experience of Coronial law.

I am the current President of the East Midlands Coroners' Society.

I also teach Greek being fluent in Modern Greek.  I am of Greek Cypriot origin.

My hobbies include attending the theatre, cinema, and reading, sport including rugby, tennis, football and cricket. I also enjoy listening to music and particularly enjoy travelling.
